David Sommers is a multidisciplinary fine artist based in Lehigh Valley, Pennsylvania. With 30 years of experience, he synthesizes past art traditions with a modern, multidimensional viewpoint. His work reflects a Cubist-Realist style of geometric shapes, organized on diagrammatic intersections that fracture color, space, and shape. Sommers also enjoys painting landscapes in a more impressionist style.
Sommers has exhibited in multiple group shows in the Lehigh Valley and in New Jersey and also has shown in a couple of his own shows. Recently he completed a large mural commissioned by the new Penn State Health Hampden Medical Center and large-scale oil paintings for the Penn State Lancaster Health Medical Center and for the Penn State Health Milton S. Hershey Medical Center, as well as creating a series of prints of his recent works for permanent exhibit in these hospitals.
