Studio 226
Janet’s paintings are the combination of her life-long study of both painting and art history as well as her experiences for more that eighty years of life. Weaving these personal memories into a visual presentation produces a glimpse into the soul of the artist. Janet works mostly with oil on canvas while abstracting shapes and colors from the nature that surrounded her for the last thirty-five years on her home on the James River in Virginia.
Janet studied art at Rhode Island School of Design and completed her academic career with an MA in Humanities at Penn State. She has since studied for twenty-five years at The Beverley Street Studio in Staunton, Virginia before recently moving to Pennsylvania.
