JuxtaHub is a new Arts & Innovation Center serving the Greater Lehigh Valley—the hub where art and technology intersect. Our mission is to connect creators, artists, and makers across diverse mediums, fostering education, collaboration, and innovation throughout the region. We’ve built a community that encourages people to gather, create, and grow.

Our summer camp serves children ages 6-12 across four one-week sessions. Campers explore visual arts, making, and emerging technologies through hands-on projects, with daily activities, meals/snacks, and outdoor time.

  • Hands-on experience at the intersection of art and technology, with exposure to studio tools, maker equipment, and creative software.
  • Direct mentorship from working artists, educators, and technologists.
  • Connection to a growing creative community in the Lehigh Valley.
  • Paid orientation and onboarding before camp begins.
  • Professional and personal growth in a collaborative team environment.
  • Support instructors with classroom management and lesson facilitation.
  • Assist with set-up, breakdown, and daily cleaning of classrooms and assigned areas.
  • Supervise campers throughout the day, including arrival, dismissal, transitions, lunch, snack, and bathroom breaks.
  • Take and verify group attendance each morning.
  • Create a safe, welcoming, and engaging experience for every camper.
  • Model promptness, respectful communication, appropriate language, and care for the facilities and outdoor spaces.
  • Collaborate with staff and volunteers to prepare and install weekly art parties and showcases.
  • Build positive relationships with campers, parents, and fellow staff members.
  • Promptly report program changes, safety concerns, and equipment needs to leadership (Executive Director, Convergent Makerspace Director, and/or Programming Coordinator).
  • Minimum age 18.
  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Experience working with children in a school, camp, childcare, or comparable setting.
  • Comfort working with children from diverse backgrounds and abilities.
  • Effective verbal and written communication.
  • Enthusiasm, patience, and self-control in a high-energy environment.
  • Reliable transportation to and from the JuxtaHub campus.
  • Pennsylvania Act 153 clearances (must be obtained prior to start date and dated within the last 60 months): PA State Police Criminal Record Check (Act 34), PA Child Abuse History Clearance (Act 151), and FBI Fingerprint-Based Background Check (Act 114).
  • One or more years of college coursework, or equivalent experience in education, the arts, or youth programming.
  • Working knowledge of visual arts, maker tools, or creative technology.
  • Current First Aid and CPR certification (or willingness to obtain prior to start).
  • Bilingual ability in English and Spanish.

This is an active role. With or without reasonable accommodation, the position requires the ability to:

  • Stand, walk, bend, kneel, and remain on your feet for the majority of the workday.
  • Move between indoor and outdoor activity spaces, including navigating stairs.
  • Lift and carry up to 50 pounds occasionally (e.g., supplies, clay, equipment, activity materials).
  • Maintain visual supervision of children at all times during activities.

This job description is not designed to cover every responsibility of the role. Duties may evolve and additional responsibilities may be assigned as needed.
