Olaf was born and raised in London, UK, and came to photography at the age of 11 when he was given a used Zenit 35mm camera. He has been a student of photography and visual imagery ever since. After a career in theatrical and architectural lighting design, Olaf has been a full-time photographer for close to two decades.
Olaf’s experience and knowledge of light is the primary influence in his photographic work. Using light to “sculpt” subjects he creates images from a unique perspective. Critics have described his work as “subtlety and power” and “visual intrigue.”
