JuxtaHub reserves the right to suspend or remove any participant whose conduct is aggressive or disruptive — meaning actions that interfere with or negatively affect the broader camp community.
Examples of such conduct include, but are not limited to:
Verbal misconduct: Directing profanity, yelling, or harassing language toward staff or fellow participants.
Physical misconduct: Engaging in fighting, bullying, or physical contact intended to harm — including hitting, kicking, or biting — or any actions that put people or property at risk.
Failure to comply: Refusing to adhere to safety guidelines, staff direction, or group supervision requirements.
Disruption: Repeatedly interrupting, distracting, or obstructing others’ ability to engage in or benefit from program activities.
Property damage: Intentionally damaging or destroying equipment, facilities, or belongings.
Please note: Participants may be dismissed immediately for severe misconduct or any violation of policies related to safety, weapons, or illegal substances.
Response to Disruptive Behavior
When disruptive behavior occurs, JuxtaHub will take the following steps:
- The situation will be addressed directly with the child and any involved staff member, and/or the Leadership Team or Summer Camp Director — followed by notification to a parent or guardian.
- If the behavior continues, a conference will be arranged between the parent, child, and JuxtaHub’s Executive Director.
- Parents are expected to be active partners in identifying constructive, positive solutions.
- Ongoing disruptive conduct may ultimately result in removal from the program.
Aggressive or Violent Behavior
If a participant engages in aggressive or violent behavior — including hitting, kicking, biting, or using any object as a weapon — toward staff or other campers, the following applies:
- The child will be required to leave for the day immediately.
- No refund will be issued when a participant is removed due to behavioral concerns.
- The child will not be permitted to return for the remainder of that camp week, though they may have the opportunity to participate successfully at a later session.
