After Graduating from the Tokyo Electric Engineering College, Taya quickly switched to an interest in art and began doing large airbrush abstract paintings. He joined a group of artists in Tokyo, Japan exhibiting as a group and solo shows. Taya immigrated to the United States of America, living first in Los Angeles, California working on printmaking. He then moved to New York City to attend the Brooklyn Museum Art School followed by the School of Visual Arts where he earned a BFA. Since then Taya has been working in special effects for the film industry in the USA and Europe. He still creates one of a kind pieces at his studio in Emmaus, Pennsylvania.
